The Marayoor Tribal Development Project has reached a significant milestone with the inauguration of a dedicated retail outlet for Anjunadu Tribal Products, branded specifically to market organic vegetables, spices, hill brooms, and other Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP). The outlet was officially inaugurated by Mr. Nagesh Kumar Anumala, Chief General Manager of NABARD, in the presence of District Development Manager Mr. Arun M. S and Assistant Manager Mr. Cambridge Kannan. Also facilitated by the Girijyothi Tribal Farmer Producer Company Ltd., the initiative is uniquely owned by the farmers themselves, boasting 750 tribal shareholders.
Under the leadership of HDS Executive Director Dr. Sony Philip, Project Officer Ciby Maliackal, and Project Coordinator Mr. Ebin Thomas, the project focuses on streamlining the collection of authentic tribal produce and ensuring direct market access, thereby eliminating middlemen and maximizing profits for the indigenous community.

The primary outcome of this initiative is the economic empowerment and market integration of 750 tribal farmers in the Marayoor region. by establishing the "Anjunadu Tribal Products" brand and a dedicated outlet, the project effectively bridges the gap between remote tribal producers and the mainstream market. This model ensures that the 750 tribal shareholders of the Girijyothi Tribal Farmer Producer Company Ltd. retain ownership of the supply chain, allowing them to secure fair prices for their organic vegetables, spices, and forest products. Ultimately, the project fosters sustainable livelihoods and self-reliance by transforming traditional tribal harvesting into a professionally managed, community-owned business enterprise.
