The BV-380 Poultry Farming Training Project, implemented by HDS with the assistance of NABARD, was inaugurated by the Chief General Manager of NABARD, Mr. Nagesh Kumar Anumala. This project aims to increase the income of ninety financially underprivileged women. The event was led by HDS President Rev. Monsignor Jose Karivelickal, Executive Director Rev. Dr. Joseph Kochukunnel, NABARD DDM Mr. Arunkumar, Ms. Kunjamma Thomas, Ciby Thomas, Abin Thomas, and Jainy Shaji. The project aims to enable participants to earn a steady income by starting their own poultry farming units upon the completion of this two-week training program.

The core outcome of this project is the economic self-reliance of 90 underprivileged women through the establishment of sustainable micro-enterprises. By completing the two-week specialized training, these women transition from unskilled laborers to poultry farm owners capable of managing high-yielding BV-380 units. This results in a consistent daily income for their households, improved local food security through egg production, and long-term financial stability for families in the Idukki region.
